Sharp Shinned Hawk vs Robin 1121
On 2/21/2021 I was taking photos of a flock of robins getting a drink at at wooded stream. It was innocent until all heck broke loose.
It was happening so quickly. I was unsure as to what I was seeing, but could hear the robins alerting calls.
I honestly didn't know what to do as I realized what was happening. Within a split second, I thought holler! Run! But Spirit told me to just keep focusing and snapping the shutter. So I did, through tears.
I didn't know that I caught the lift of the robin from the water until I got home.
It laid the robin not far from the stream and I was able to move ever so slowly forward to try and get a better focus. I used my 500mm manual lens and when all was said and done, I looked at the distance and I was 80 feet more or less from the hawk.
