Sap Sucker Pair 0644
As I went to the marsh, I hoped that the water hadn't went down any further. It was staying steady, however no four legged critters. I was able to call in some birds in my typical Snow White fashion though! This pair of sap suckers were on the pine tree, however I really only noticed one for the longest time! The other was blended into the tree trunk until it moved and I got this photo.
Yellow-bellied sapsuckers do not peck at the tree to get insects that reside there. Instead, they remove the inner bark rows of holes that they made in a perfect row. After some time they return, eating the sap that has run and enticed tiny insects to get stuck.
Sap Sucker can give us a bit of a nudge that we may be laying a trap for someone with our words or actions. It can also mean to plan out your goals. Just be sure your intentions are of the greatest and highest good!
